Located in the heart of the Illinois Medical District at 1950 W. Roosevelt Rd., Chicago, IL, our mission is to provide a supportive and enriching environment where students can gain the skills and confidence they need to lead independent, fulfilling lives.
At ICRE-R, we understand that every student’s journey is unique. Our comprehensive Transition Program Curriculum is designed to meet the diverse needs of our students, ensuring they are equipped with the essential life skills necessary for independence.
We base our curriculum on the renowned Casey Life Skills framework, offering classes that cover all aspects of independent living, including home management, personal financial and benefit management, community resources, mobility training, and self-advocacy. These classes are tailored to help students navigate the complexities of daily life with confidence and autonomy.
Beyond academic learning, our students receive practical experience in career planning and exploration. They participate in our in-house STEP program and a variety of vocational training classes that prepare them for future employment opportunities.
From resume writing to hands-on vocational experiences, we ensure our students are ready to transition smoothly into the workforce or further education.

Our after-school hours are filled with programs that encourage students to make friends, socialize, and discover new hobbies. We offer a wide range of evening activities in the arts, music, martial arts, scuba diving, and dance, ensuring there is something for everyone.
In addition, we collaborate with volunteer agencies to bring exciting and diverse activities to our campus, offering students even more opportunities to explore their interests.
